Future Reptile

Final design for the future creature.

This creature evolved (or mutated) at some point in the not too distant future, following an unknown apocalypse that befell the Earth. The creature is nocturnal or hunts in dark places, where it uses its superb UV vision to track prey. It is not exceptionally fast, and therefore uses the well developed light-emitting organ on its head to unleash a powerful blast of infra-red light (which it itself cannot see) to stun or blind prey.
The creatures will also communicate over vast distances using pulses of visible light and small packs of them create a soft light to mark their presence whilst they sleep.
The creatures seem to favor man-made structures to shelter in, and large groups of up to a hundred at a time will often sleep together in the remaining buildings on planet earth.
This animal seems to be derived from some species of gecko as they have the 'suction pads' seen on modern geckoes on their feet. They will often nest in high places, laying several spherical, gelatinous eggs at a time that will stick to walls or cliff-faces.
